Following our own advice…better late than never…David Ciaramella and Roxanne Pompa are set to shop Small World formats in CEE and Lat Am

LONDON TV SCREENINGS: Boutique format distributor Small World IFT has tapped two experienced industry figures to represent its formats in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Latin America, with one assuming his new role in London this week.

David Ciaramella, who previously worked at research outfit K7 Media before launching his own media consultancy, Boxed Off, last year, has agreed a deal with Small World IFT president Tim Crescenti to represent the company’s formats in CEE.

Ciarmella, a well-known face on the TV industry circuit after presenting many conference sessions and presentations on the formats sector, will mix Small World duties with his Boxed Off work and is here at the London TV Screenings this week shopping Small World formats.

Meanwhile, Roxanne Pompa, former VP of international sales and production at Paramount Global Content Distribution, has also signed up to rep Small World’s formats, focusing on the Latin American markets.

Pompa left Paramount last October after more than 18 years and prior to that was director of international sales and production at CBS Corporation. She launched RoxPro Global Consulting & Talent Management last month and will combine this with her Small World work.

Ciaramella and Pompa will initially focus on Small World’s formats Win Your Country, Note for Note and The Magic Door, all of which are currently on air. Win Your Country is on Spanish free-to-air network Televisión de Galicia and is based on a format from Bucharest-based Zucchero Media.

Note for Note broadcasts on South Africa’s SABC and is created and produced by Johannesburg-based prodco Stemmburg Television, and The Magic Door airs on Italian public broadcaster Rai2. Based on a format created by US producer JD Roth, the latter show is produced in Italy by Casta Diva Pictures.

“We’re ecstatic to have Roxanne and David championing Small World’s formats in these growing territories,” Crescenti told C21 here at the London TV Screenings.

“Latin America is an untapped goldmine for our shows and CEE is a market that deserves our full attention. With their deep market expertise and fantastic industry relationships, Roxanne and David are the perfect partners to bring Small World’s proven hits to broadcasters in these regions.”
